Reading
I have always loved books. I would sit in a corner and read from sun up to sun down. As I grew up my love for reading matured but somewhere it died off until I read a Beverly Jenkins book. It was like gaining contact with an old friend.
Writing
Poetry is my first love. But I used poetry for self expression, and to connected with people in a fun, punchy, and somewhat dramatic way. It wasn't until I'd amassed several binders of poems that I decided to share my work with a high school teacher. She encouraged my writing. I then began writing short stories and featured pieces.
Closet Writer
Technically, I am a closet writer. I write business content daily. But I love fiction. I find it the greatest way to escape and take a vacation for less than $10. I decided to participate in the 2009 NaNoWriMo contest and here I am.
