Caramel Surprise 01/21/2010
![]() Coming May 2010 Writing is a self-generating process. Once you start, it takes on this magnetic life of its own. I started writing Black Diamond, actually that not totally true, I started writing Intoxicated, which lead to Black Diamond and now I've finished my first short story slated for publication titled Caramel Surprise. (YEAH!) Caramel Surprise is a romance short story about Sandra James, owner of a quaint coffee shop in Houston, Texas. Sandra is going through "the change" -- not menopause -- when you look around and notice that your life is not quite what you thought it would be. She has a wonderful business, however, she believes it's missing something. She will enlist the help of her best friends to fill the void in her otherwise perfect life. Back to the think tank I go. Remember, "Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections.” (unknown author) Add Comment National Novel Writing Month I'm In! 10/10/2009
November is National Novel Writing Month. I plan to join hundreds of other writers for a challenge of writing 50,000 words in 30 days. I am still in shock wondering if I'm insane for deciding to do this. My gut says I can do this. I've waited long enough to write (and complete) my book. But my brain is screaming. Questioning my sanity. And I believe it has a just cause to be a little ticked off. We'll see. For now, you all can see my banner above. I plan to write Black Diamond. I have a general storyline emerging. I will share it once I have a full vision for the story. I will also post some romance short stories, flash fiction (which I love), and anything else that may distract me from my 1,700 daily quota. Stay tuned for more. I hope I don't spend this entire journey alone, just me, my ticked off brain and this blog. Again, we'll see. Oh, and I should have a working synopsis for the book in the next day or so. Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia. ~E.L. Doctorow | AuthorI am a wife, mother, entrepreneur, and a closet writer in Texas.
